Chief Loloma Chief Loloma was, at the time of early American arrival to Hopiland, a leader of Old Oraibi, one of the oldest continuously-inhabited places in the United States. In 1875, the English trader Thomas Keam escorted him and other Hopi leaders to meet President Chester A. Arthur in Washington D.C. He continues to be revered by Hopis today, and has many descendants.
